What’s the competition about?
The US-ASEAN Short Film Competition (UASFC) is currently the only one of its kind – a short film competition focusing on the culturally-rich and vibrant region of Southeast Asia. This year’s theme is “Southeast Asian Life, Culture, and People.” It certainly shall be interesting to see the range of submissions, from the extremely abstract to the down right literal interpretations. We challenge filmmakers to be as creative as possible in fulfilling this thematic requirement. Everyone is invited to participate, the only restriction is the thematic one.
What can I win?
Two awards are up for competition; the UASFC Award and the UASFC Audience Award.
The UASFC Award winner gets US$ 1,000 in cash and a UASFC Award trophy while the Audience Award winner gets US$ 200 gift certificate and a UASFC Audience Award certificate. Both winning films will be showcased on the UACP portal for six months starting October 23, 2009.
